Black Lotus Brewing Company, at the corner of 14 Mile and Main Street in Clawson, is not only one of our favorite places to hang out… It’s also a favorite place to play for the members of Distorted Soul.
Sure the Lotus has the best microbrew in town (IMHO), a fantastic new menu, a non-smoking (but surprisingly smoker friendly) environment, but it’s also a fun place to play and listen to music. Just ask Kris K.
Distorted Soul guitarist and newlywed Kris Kurzawa is the Black Lotus house guitar hero. Catch him on Tuesday nights performing in a world groove super group with Sean Blackman (Blackman & Arnold), James Simonson (The Brothers Groove), Mark “Swami” Harper (Black Bottom Collective & Black Lotus brewmeister) and Rick Beamon (Jazzhead). Then on Wednesdays he hits with the funky jazz of Trio Organic featuring Duncan McMillan and Mike Gableman. (Say “Hello” to Kris’s new wife, Mia, if you see her there as well.)
And then Kamau, Distorted Soul’s bass man will rock the Lotus stage with The Definition on June 13. (You must check out The Definition by the way. Hip hop + Classical + Rock + Funk. Great music and great lyrics.)
This Saturday, Nadir’s Distorted Soul will premier some new material and rock the streets of Clawson. The party starts at 9pm and the funk will erupt at 9:01. Come on out and see why we enjoy this place so much.
